Acts 13:49-51 says, “And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.
[50] But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, raised up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region.
[51] But they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and came to Iconium.”

Paul and Barnabas had full intention of teaching these people. Yet the people didn’t want to hear. Not only did they not want to hear, but they stirred up false witnesses, persecuted them, and then expelled them from the land. They didn’t want to hear truth and so they caused all the trouble for them that they could.

Paul and Barnabas realized that they were not getting anywhere with these people...so they shook the dust off their feet and went in search of people looking for truth. At times in life we will be more successful in teaching truth if we shake the dust off of our feet and move on to those who are really looking for truth. Sometimes it is difficult to do. Sometimes it means leaving loves ones knowing they are wrong and moving on to those who approach truth with an open mind.
