Bullets From The Bible 11-19-17

Matthew 7:15-20 says,”“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves [16] “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? [17] “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. [18] “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit [19] “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. [20] “Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”
Sometimes it is difficult to tell whether someone is speaking the truth or not. Sometimes people even believe they are speaking the truth, however are not. How do you know if someone is speaking the truth or not? Their fruits reveal the truth. When a tree is planted one can tell what kind of tree it is by the fruit it bears. Yet sometimes this is difficult because during certain seasons the fruit is not at a stage that it will reveal the type of tree. In that case one might have to wait several months to find out whether the tree is peach or plum. However eventually the tree will be revealed by its fruits.
Sometimes it is difficult to tell whether one is a false prophet or not...however they will eventually reveal their fruits. Eventually something will be taught that is contrary to the word of God. The danger is that sometimes people’s word is taken as truth just because they have spoken truth in the past. Have you ever considered that most of what false prophets speak is truth and only a small portion is false? This means we must continually listen and compare what we are hearing to the word of God so that the fruit will be revealed.
Other times fruit is revealed by actions. When a person says one thing and does another it becomes very clear that they don’t completely buy into what they have told you. When someone says to follow the Bible, but they themselves do not...how can you trust what they are teaching?
By their fruits you will know. Compare their fruits to God’s word to know real truth!
