Bullets From The Bible 11/16/17

Ecclesiastes 5:18-19 says, "Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. [19] Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. "
Sometimes I have heard the idea that riches are wrong and are to be given away. That however is not an entirely true Biblical principle. We are to be willing to help those in need, and we must be certain not to trust in our riches, yet it is not wrong to have an enjoy riches. When someone works and earns that which they have it is his to enjoy. Yet we must remember that the riches one might have are because of opportunities that are given to us by God. It is His gift to us.
How blessed are we in the country we live in. We are to be content with food and raiment...yet almost all of us have so much more that God has given us. When is the last time that you worried about whether or not you would have a house to live in? When is the last time you worried about whether or not you would have food to eat. And I'll even bet that if we go out to start the car and it doesn't start most of us can grab another set of keys and try another car. We are blessed by God and we should realize that blessing, enjoy it, and be thankful to Him for all He has given to us.
