Attempt at Bipod Shooting

  • This was my first real attempt at shooting off a bipod. I usually use my one piece rest. I didn't show my first two attempts because they were pathetic, and that's being kind. It's hard to watch the flags and keep your scope on the target at the same time. I had the wind figured out then forgot to change holdoff when the wind let up. Looking to do better than a 1075 in the future.

  • Bit different than those 1-piece rests isn't it Wayne!?

Yea, I started with a 50 then 5 100s in a row and started thinking it was easy. Then the bottom fell out.. I finally learned how to look through the scope with one eye and watch the wind flags with the other. Takes some real concentration.

  • I don't know what it is, but I can't view imgur links on my computer.

@rimfire looks like we need to send you a atlas bipod

  • @irish This is what I get

The webpage at gApcG1f.jpg might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
    ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED

my guess is that your network or computer is blocking that site. first thing I would do is change your DNS to googles DNS

if that doesn't work run a malware scan on your computer

if that doesn't work contact your ISP (who you pay for to get internet) and explain the issue to them. Usually that is an hour long conversation because they will blame your computer for the issue first. And if that doesn't work try a different browser. Judging by your post you are getting that error on Chrome so try firefox out.

If all that fails message me and I would gladly remote onto your computer and check it out if you are willing.

Is it as sturdy as my 1 piece rest?

@rimfire I'm not going to incriminate myself on a public forum

  • @irish Thanks, but I have a company computer, so I can't change all that stuff. I'm sure thats gotta be it.

  • I shoot off of a bipod ninety percent of the time and I cuss them every time. Just when you are set they either scoot forward or tilt. I don't have an Atlas but have a couple of knock off's that are better than the old Harris ones I use for hunting. What I started doing was taking a one by six board and clamping it across the bench so I can push against it with the feet of the bipod. It keeps it from skidding and you can load the bipod and it won't bounce as bad. For some reason the gun shops in my area don't ever have good bags or rests, just bipod's. While we are on the subject what is the best set up?

The knock off's are a disgrace.

    Get a real one.

It's on my list, the Atlas or similar. No more Cheena.

    Atlas or similar

There is no similar. Atlas simply has the market cornered when it comes to precision bipods.
