vegas shooting
-
The media machine is already completely spooled up.
Those of you going to SHOT show will face protestors/rioters for sure.
-
Sad.
But more laws won't help. Murder is already illegal.
-
glad I was there last Monday not today.
-
Glad I wasn’t there last Monday or today. I have been to Vegas once and have no desire to go back. Ain’t nothing but trouble there.
However that has absolutely nothing to do with this shooting and the only one to blame is the obviously deranged shooter.
-
Barf emoji.
-
Predictably disgusting.
-
HC reminds me of an old girlfriend's noisy little Chihuahua. Nothing against the breed but, all that dog was good for is noise. It had no front teeth so not much of a threat, but it had quite an attitude. Quite a parallel now that I think about it.
-
I wonder how long until it's disclosed the gunman was on antidepressants or some other big pharma drug that's been commonly linked to all of these types of shootings?
As for Vegas, never been...had a small desire to go just to say I have been there, but these days I'm more of a let's get as far away from people as possible for a relaxing trip kind of person.
Heart goes out to all affected by this.
-
Such a sad day in time we live in, I worry what things will be like for my kids when they get older. No amount of gun control will ever help reduce these horrific acts it will only make them more frequent. Makes my skin crawl when people like Hillary try to twist it into something that fits their agenda, truth be told she could careless about the victims. Then the media, well that's a whole different type of bottom feeder. A CBS executive tweeted that she was unsympathetic for the victims because most county music fans are gun toting republicans. At least CBS did the right thing and fired her.
-
-
Call me crazy but I believe there is more to this shooting than just some old guy with no "gun history" decided to snap and rained down all that evil by himself with a couple $99.00 gimmick bump stocks. We may never know the whole story but I just can't see how it was possible and don't add up to me.
-
@irish said:
After today's statement by the NRA and the immediate reaction by a lot of republicans it's not surprising.
All the republicans need voted out. They've done nothing, control the senate, house, and presidency and the only agenda getting done is the Democrats, and now they'll pass some form of gun control.
-
-
I kind of feel a little betrayed by all of these “pro gun” entities who have caved to the fear mongering of the Democrats and media. Are they really going to outlaw bump fire stocks? What about binary triggers? Electronic triggers? Rotary actuators? Are they going to outlaw putting your thumb through the trigger hole, hooking it on your belt loop and bump firing? And when they get their final list of each “work around” that is banned there will crop up 5 more work arounds.
Now here is part of the problem I have with this. There is a massive amount of research and development that goes into each of these LEGAL devices...and then they feds are going to cut the legs off of each of these businesses for making LEGAL devices.
Reality: the shooter would have done this with or without a bump fire stock and it would have made little difference in the outcome.
The real problem: consider the number of times the media has changed the details of this story. Can you really trust what the media is telling you? Now also consider that much of what the media is spewing is coming from law enforcement leaders. Considering how many times it has changed...can you really trust what the gov is telling you? Actual reality is that we really don’t know for sure what happened and never will. We will only know what the government and news tells us and wants us to believe. And these are the people who are making new legislation based on all of this false information that is being perpertrated. Sounds like a good idea to me! (Sarcastic)

I had a big post typed.
I deleted it.
The fact is, no one cares what I think about it and I don't give a shit what any of you think about it.
I don't need group-think to know right from wrong. ALL the rest is just bullshit... and everyone is playing right into their hands, just like always.
-
X2 on not believing the government or the media. Both have their agendas and cherry pick facts to fit the goals of each. The reality is that you can't fix stupid or crazy and you certainly cant legislate it away though our law makers seem determined to try in order to appease the far left.
I'm really sick at what I'm seeing coming out of the American media and our politicians. They really should be ashamed of themselves but realizing that would require decency.... A trait both sorely lack.. Both do little to hide their self dealing activities to the point that they don't even both to hide it anymore.
I've started watching news organizations like the BBC for a more balanced look at what is happening here and around the world. it's not perfect but its better than the crap I see on network television in between the massive amounts of commercials, and what purports to be news.
As far as the politicians are concerned, next election cycle RE-ELECT NO ONE!!!!
As far as the shooting, I did hear several law enforcement officials say it before the media sensors had a chance to "filter the content." Simply put, in a free society, you cannot stop things like this from happening so long as there are mentally deranged individuals amongst us.
-
My opinion is no real shooter has any use for a bump stock, to me they are useless gimmicks. With that said I disagree with banning them for several reasons, but my main reason is the fact that it gives the anti gun nuts momentum and if bump stocks are banned then they will go after something else. They will continue to erode our second amendment piece by piece. Just like suppressors, why are suppressors even being brought up, last I checked the shooter didn't use one. Then you have the liberal media fucktards saying that a suppressors sole purpose is to make a weapon more dangerous and deadly and they have no other use. In no way does a suppressor make a weapon more dangerous but only makes them safer in my opinion. I believe all this was set up for the benefit of someone's agenda cause nothing else's adds up. Ever notice as soon as the whole "gun debate" starts dying down and the left loses traction another mass shooting occurs giving them traction again? Strang coincidence huh
-
@orkan I wouldn't have mind reading it. But understand your thought process.
-
who's saying that it wasn't put on by the left to further their other played out agendas. i.e. - Antifa, BLM, etc.. New incident, same narrative...
-
Gunbroker bans sale of bumpstocks on their site.
They officially lost me as a customer... for life.
-
We're being sold out by people that make their livings from guns. Sad day in time ain't it fellas.

@gash called it. Dude was on meds.

@orkan it would take some time, but all of these "mass shootings" that haven't been "terror" related, have all had the same thing in common....one or more of the people have been on a psychiatric drug with known side effects of aggression, suicidal tendencies, etc...it's not a big surprise this guy was on something too. Psych drugs are handed out like candy these days by regular family doctors and psychiatrists alike. It's ridiculous.
-
Dear Gunbroker,
Fuck you.
Sincerely,
Greg Dykstra.
All these companies and their immediate knee jerk reaction to give gun owners the shaft rather than stand with us. When it really counts, they won't be there for us and if you support them you're as big a traitor as they are.

Nice animation CNN 😩
-
To quote Bill Ingvall.....HERE's YOUR SIGN... CNN
Thank goodness slanted news media outlets are blatantly incompetent. Nice job on the visual aid.
-
So they sue the maker of the stocks. Predictable.
Money.
Greed is literally the only thing people care about any more and it will be the downfall of society. It has us circling the drain right now.
-
If you ever looked at political contributions which are usually "supposed to be public" you would see contributions from law firms very close to the top of the biggest donor list. Of course there are law suits.
99% of attorneys make the rest look bad. I heard that somewhere.😊
-
So I’ve been thinking about this.
What’s the actual solution? We all know banning guns/whatever won’t work.
So how do we prevent this from happening again?
-
The solution is simple and has been right in front of us the whole time.
Think about it. Things like this didn't often happen in American back in the 1800's and early 1900's. It could be argued that the difference is modern firearms...yet there still would have been some mass killings. The difference is that America used to be a country built on God. America used to be a country that stood for Godly morals, taught Godly morals, and expected everyone to follow Godly morals. Our society as of late has done everything possible to take God out of every aspect of life and then we wonder why wickedness prevails. When God has been taken out of many churches, out of our schools, and out of our homes then we have no more true sense of morality. When God is taken out of the picture then man determines his own morality...and that is exactly what we see in these people. They decide that they are ready to die...and since they believe that we are all just animals (as taught in school) and that there is no hereafter or God to answer to...they go out in a flame of fire so to say. If there is no God and there is no eternity, then why not live however I want to and do whatever feels fun to me regardless of how it affects others?
What is the answer? The answer is to put God back into our lives, our family, our schools, our churches, and our nation. The answer is to realize that there is a higher authority than ourselves and realize the eternal consequences of not following that authority. The answer is the same answer that would have pulled Israel from the brink of captivity so many times in the Old Testament. The answer is the same as what would have pulled Rome back from the brink of destruction. The answer is to turn back to God...yet that answer, the true solution is the last thing most people want to hear. Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37)
The age old words of Solomon still ring true today.
Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation,But sin is a reproach to any people.

@dddoo7 winner winner chicken dinner!
Our society has made morality uncool, old fashioned, a backwards way to live. If people could just learn to live by a basic set of morals, we'd be a much better place. Just take a look around online, how quickly people threaten others lives, or wish ill onto someone. Do they really mean that what they say? I know that I say only what I mean.
-
I remember back in High School we all had gun racks in our trucks with a gun or 2 in them. No school shootings no problems no issues. After school we did some pig hunting or shooting. Why because of what ddd posted.
-
@dddoo7 Sadly some people prefer to follow the sayings of Mao, Stalin, or Lenin rather than Jesus in response to crisis.
“War can only be abolished through war, and in order to get rid of the gun it is necessary to take up the gun.”
― Mao Zedong"It is true that liberty is precious; so precious that it must be carefully rationed."
―Vladimir Lenin“Ideas are far more powerful than guns. We don't let our people have guns. Why should we let them have ideas?”
― Joseph Stalin
-
x2 on that response. We've allowed the liberals and the ACLU take God out of our country and look a what we have as a result.
That said in a free society, nut jobs will do bad things even with God in our society. Thou shalt not kill has been a commandment from God, that hasn't stopped murder through the ages. I would agree that systemic effort of removing God from society has probably increased the frequency murder though. This is something that everyone knows, but a fact that the ACLU would deny.
Separating church from state was a wise move by our founding fathers based on history's examples of government institutions doing bad things in the name of God. I think we've allowed the ACLU to go too far in defending the rights of those who believe in nothing.
-
There will always be evil people. Even in societies that are firmly planted in a faith in God there are still evil people. Yet the problem lies in the fact that we are raising our children as if there is no higher authority than the government. We are raising our children and teaching them that they are no different than an animal...and then wonder why they act like animals.
"Separation of church and state" is a premise that has become "necessary" because of our stand for truth. True...there have been many times in the past that both church and state have wrongfully used religion to further their own purpose. Most churches today have wandered away from the truth of the Bible in one way or another leading to thousands of different denominations all teaching their own "truths". If all religious people would simply put aside their preconceived notions and follow the word of God and the word of God alone there would be unity in Christianity. Furthermore...if the state (Government) would follow the Bible as it is written and stand for the truth of the word then there would be no real problems either. We could then go back to teaching about God in schools, praying before ball games, and trusting in the Lord.
Now...don't get me wrong. As our world is now I believe separation of church and state to be somewhat of a good thing. The reality is...I don't want some school teacher teaching my children about Islam, Buddhism, or even a perverted "Christianity". Yet the problem lies in the fact that our country no longer stands for truth making it almost impossible for the state to have any cross over with religion.
Think about this as well. Can you imagine what our country would be like if the president and congress realized that there is a higher authority than themselves? Can you imagine what this world would be like if the president and congress lived their lives and made decisions based on right and wrong...Biblical right and wrong...not opinion? Can you imagine how wonderful this country would be if our leaders made their decisions for our country KNOWING that they would one day stand before God and answer for those decisions? You want to make American great again?...turn our country whole heartedly back to God and He will make it great again!
-
Separation of church and state used to mean that there was no official religion.
Many schools and court houses had the ten commandments and prayers posted publicly recognizing the morality of the ten commandments and the power of the Creator.
ACLU, un-elected black robed fools and a number malcontents changed all that, and not for the better.

I worked through it and came to about the same answer.
Morality, we all need to focus on living more moral and virtuous lives.
We need those social structures in our communities afforded by churches/temples/whatever (I suspect even the YMCA and Elks or something would help.)
I also suspect single parents are part of the issue in some way. People want to belong to a family. The lack of fathers explains gang problems in the black community pretty readily.I'm done thinking about it for now. The news has been bumming me out lately
