Scented Candles
-
Thought maybe Gash would see this here. I used to get scented wax candles at the grocery store but now all they have is soy candles. Are these as good as the regular wax candles? Checked on Amazon and they have soy candles and wax candles. Which are better. Just interested in vanilla scent - can't get enough of it. Thanks, Wayne

Hi Wayne!
In short, yes soy candles are much better than traditional paraffin wax candles. Traditional candles are a bi-product of gasoline, they release a lot of soot when they're burning and they also release a lot of toxins. Also they tend to burn at a much quicker rate than soy candles, due to their origin.
These says I'm a huge fan of wax burner melts (http://amzn.to/2wjfx3b). I like to add my own unscented soy wax to them (http://amzn.to/2hzQOEE) and then add 5-10 drops of my own scent into the candle, here's vanilla http://amzn.to/2vDWcg4, and just use a dropper or pipettes (http://amzn.to/2wjieC7) to count how many drops are being put in. Doing it this way saves a lot of money in the long run as you can use your wax multiple times before discarding and you can swap out scents should you ever want to. The initial investment of getting set up this way, is about the same as a buying few high quality soy candles, but this set up would probably last you a full year with the burner being on 24/7.
Hope this helps you.

@gash Thanks, Now I just have to start doing this. I tend to be on the lazy side. More than striking a match gets too complicated, but I will definately check this out. Wayne

@rimfire I understand :)

You can also put a little bit of vanilla on the oven and heat it up.
-
Or you can put a vanilla scentsy on your suppressor before a long string.

Thanks, Gash
Guys, you're not helping.
