Colt Army Special .38 early 1900's - Do it yourself Parkerizing

My Colt's blueing is pretty bad in a few areas from years of neglect, from gone to tiny rust spots. I am wondering if anyone has tried to Parkerizing a pistol themselves, and if so how did it turn out? I am capable of doing things myself, complete disassembly, prep work, bead blasting etc. Not to worried about it not being original, it's not going anywhere. I just don't want to make the effort if the "do it yourself Parkerizing" looks like crap, in the end.
