Just wanted to give a big thank you for not spouting horrible information and false accolades when it comes to questions and suggestions posted in this forum. I just spent a little over an hour combing through a forum (not the other one that we all belong to) not looking for anything in particular, just looking..... And the amount of ill informed folks posting their version of precision reloading technique and kit, was amazing. I guess what I'm getting at is, Thanks for not being those guys. I am relatively new to precision reloading/shooting and y'all have done a great job guiding me down the right path directly or indirectly..

You aren't the only one that feels that way.
Everything I have spent money on based upon the experience of people here was well spent or I knew exactly what the limitations of the items were and knowingly made the compromise. No surprises or regrets.

What you speak of, is exactly why Primal Rights was started... no joke.
-
@orkan I kinda figured that. I stumbled onto the Primal Rights website just a little over a year ago and read many of the articles on there until my head was swimming! I finally stopped reading them and just printed off a few so that I could use them for a reference. I made a few copies, then sent the links to a few friends that were in the same situation as me....just learning. I think (not just trying to be nice here...) that the info on the website, combined with the info here, should be everything a new & seasoned shooter needs to perfect their craft. It's appreciated...

Everything on the Primal rights site is great. There is a huge wealth of knowledge being shared there.
The forums as well are again an immense amount of valuable information.
Following the advice of Orkan will save you time, money, and frustration.
However...there really is one more thing you need in order to really excel at precision shooting. It is the primal Rights class. It is amazing the amount of information I learned just from the couple of days of the class. It is worth the time it takes to take the class and it will save you 1,000's of rounds of shooting that it would take to learn the same information...if I ever would have.

When I read this my first thought was that the only thing to add would be attending Greg's class.
3D expressed that thought in his response....
and I still regret not being able to attend.

Looks like the only left to do is obtain a Prometheus Scale and go to Greg's class!!

On a side note....I think I will deactivate my account on Sniperforums.com. Honestly, I just don't think it has anything else to offer.
-
@oilfieldjosh If you guys all stop posting there, so will I.
-
@orkan I'm finished....I just pm'd the admin because I can't seem to find where to disable my account. I'm just going to stay on this side of the fence and keep working on the task at hand.

I haven't posted on SF in over a year maybe more. It had gone to a bunch of idiots asking the same question and others spewing bad information that had been debunked weeks earlier.
-
I do wish we'd have more activity here... more discussions of advanced rifle concepts. ... however I certainly don't want to see the dribble that other forums are filled with. :)
I just enjoy helping folks. This is the best place for me to do that.

The difference is if we have a theory that has to do with shooting we go out and try it and then post the results. On other forums they discuss theories for months without ever testing them.
The outcome of actually testing the theories is undesputable. The outcome of discussing theories without testing is that the best talker is conceded to as right after many pages of discussion.
You want more discussion? Quit proving theories right or wrong by shooting and just discuss them.
I once read somewhere, "theories can be beneficial...experience is far more valuable"
-
@dddoo7 Well I certainly can't disagree with your assessment!
-
Then you come across those that say" I've been doings this for 40 years" or "I have 40 years of experience".....
Some I've run into that have used that argument to discredit others.
However, there is a difference between 40 years of experience and 1 years experience 40 times.....
Never to old to learn...
-
@dddoo7 nailed it.
Also I feel like @orkan is on one level, Daniel is on one level, and I'm behind both so when you guys talk it's better for me to just listen.
It is truly awesome how far along Daniel has come. I got work to do.
-
I'm just a peon. I don't really know much about shooting. I thought I did a couple years ago though.

Lmao were you around at the class when I asked Greg if he remembered me from my earlier days on snipercentral lmao.
Oh man what a jackass know it all I was. (And still an sometimes)

I don't think about it as levels so much as I think of it as a path. Some start later than others. Some go slower than others. Some rest longer than others. We aren't all on the same path either. Some take rough paths through the bush, filled with expense, pain, and sorrow. Others take easier paths.
Advancing in this sport is largely about your willingness to do the work necessary to discover the truth and refusing to listen to people that can't show their work.
