Oven-Fried Pork Chops

  • Oven-Fried Pork Chops

    4 pork chops, trimmed
    2 cups buttermilk
    2 Tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup herb-seasoned dry bread crumb mix

Pull your pork chops out 30-60 minutes prior to wanting to bake them. Place them in a shallow dish, pour 2 cups of buttermilk over them. Make sure they are evenly coated in buttermilk and cover, leave on the counter until ready to prepare for oven.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Pour butter into a 9x13 inch baking pan. Take each pork chop out of the buttermilk bath, dip into the bread crumb mixture, making sure to coated both sides liberally and place in the buttered baking pan. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Turn chops and bake for another 10 minutes, or until no pink remains in the meat and juices run clear.

  • Dang, just gained 5 lbs. thinking about them thar PCs. Mouths a watering.

  • My wife started doing the buttermilk soak on our pork chops, Man what a difference it makes on tenderness.

  • @norcal_in_az tenderness and it takes away the "pork taste" found in some cuts. :)

I like the pork taste. I'm a meat eater through and through, lol.

  • @norcal_in_az so am I and my family. However I've had a few non-pork eaters become fans of pork because of the buttermilk soak :)
