Interesting property listing in Atlanta.
-
My daughter started her new job as a realtor here in Atlanta this week.
She sent me this message today
We have a 2.5 million dollar house with an underground 100 yard gun range. It's in Morningside
She didn't send a link on picture.
Waiting to hear back from her.
-
Thats worth 2 million alone lol.
-
Yeah but then you'd have to live in Atlanta.

Yep, I think he is probably bugging out at the market peak.
The listing isn't ready yet. She visited it for the first time today. A professional photographer will do the pictures and get it all together.I have a hunch about who it may be.
I think it is the guy that owns Masterpiece Arms.
He was building a big place out East in Green County that will have a 1400 yard range close by. W Bush had friends out that way on the Lake he would fly down and meet.Lots of money moving out there away from the blast radius but right under the Fallout.

The new Range Masterpiece was building.
Private Club.

Got the listing.
It doesn't mention gun range but in the workshop you can see the cleaning rods on the door.
He shoots Bergers. Two Chargemasters.
She said it runs alongside the pool under the patio out into the back yard past the guest house.
Full size concrete range you can walk all the way down to the end.
This is actually close to CDC is a very liberal area of Atlanta.
He bought and combined 3 different lots and tore down one house.NightForce sticker on the door.
Nice Rest beside the Tipton gun vise
I'll buy my Powerball ticket tonight.

I don't get it. I look at that house, and that kind of money, and I don't get it.
Just for some perspective, here's what that kind of money would buy you in SD. I wouldn't spend 2.8 dollars in atlanta, much less 2.8 million of them.

Yea for me I'd rather buy a ranch and be able to shoot farther.
But it's whatever someone will enjoy it.

Wanblee county 2500 acres is my choice.
It has the most water it looks like.
Got some steep areas though. That 2.5 acres in that part of Atlanta is half of the cost.
She has one listing that is a $600k tear down on a 1/2 acre lot.
It is near the Governor's Mansion. This guy could be bugging out to a big Ranch out West.
We want out of GA after my wife retires.
She works right downtown on International Boulevard.Nice to see you can still find land around $1k an acre out West.
100 acres would be plenty for me if it was 50% hay pasture with a bit of woods and running water on it.

I would need to get a coupla more rifles and some steel targets (not frying pans).....

My dad owned a little bit of land in Arkansas. His neighbor was selling 40 acres that adjoined his and he wanted right at $40,000 for the land...and it was not worth the money. There is reasonably cheap land available but one has to be willing to leave the city to find it.
Farm land where I live sells for about $2500-3000/acre. Wooded land sells for about $2000/acre. If you want cheap shooting land then the desert of New Mexico or Arizona will probably be your best bet...and you won't have to deal with the South Dakota snows.
As for me...I know that shooting in west TN is not ideal for long range...but it is better than most places...and I love the area and the people here (excluding Memphis (45 min away) of course).

I don't think the cast iron frying pan would stand up to 223. My AR500 dimpled with FMJ 223 at 100 yards.

@dddoo7
AZ would be my choice. I loved living there.
-
Arizona is my favorite state as far a scenery goes. I cannot get enough of the Grand Canyon. It is my favorite place to hike!
-
We witnessed some wildlife awesomeness there.

Northern Alabama and Mississippi, and Missouri are nice. I was running up I-55 a lot last year.
Atlanta to Murfreesboro TN and back this year. I meet a Louisville KY driver at a truck stop right across the Interstate from the Barret Factory.
