I just shot the two groups above at 50yds.
I can do that on a pretty regular basis.
I'm made of steel and wood with a little aluminum mixed in.

They are fascinating to look at.
How are they to look through?

Surprisingly clear when everything is adjusted correctly. They are picky about parallax...at least mine is. Needs to be readjusted if only a few yards off...but glass quality is pretty good for what they are. They are not TT quality...but are better than the mark 4.

Maybe an Unertl thread in Optics?Yup, just as @dddoo7 said, they are amazingly clear given their age. They best the vast majority of sub-$2000 optics today. Granted their operation regarding parallax and their overall size leaves a lot to be desired. They are just a fantastic fit for rifles from that era.

You will laugh or want to kick my ass but when I was 18 my 40x 308 I had just bought had one on it and I took it off and through it in the trash and put a Nikon on it thinking I was cool. Now how I wish I could travel back in time.

Ouch. That hurts me and it wasn't my scope...although I probably would have done the same if I could have afforded the Nikon as a kid.
