Fathead Pizza Crust

  • Here is a great pizza crust recipe for everyone to try. However this crust is specifically designed for those who are following a lower carb diet. If you cut out carbohydrates you must increase your fat intake in order to properly feed your body :)

    Fathead Pizza Crust

    1 ½ cups grated mozzarella cheese
    2 tbsp cream cheese
    1 large egg
    ½ tsp salt
    ¾ cup + 1 tbsp almond flour
    extra virgin olive oil for flattening the dough

    Place grated Mozzarella cheese into a bowl and add the cream cheese. If you have a Microwave, microwave on high for 1 minute. Then mix the down, microwave for another 30 seconds. If you're like me and you don't have a microwave, you can place this in a well oiled pan on the stove over medium-low heat until the cheese melts and you can easily mix it all.

    Add the egg and mix well. Add salt, almond flour and mix again until well combined.

    Place the dough on a heat proof baking mat or parchment paper. Use your hands to flatten and shape. To keep the dough from sticking, simply rub some olive oil or butter on your hands before manipulating the dough.

    Poke the dough with a fork multiple times, then place in a preheated oven at 425*F for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is a nice golden color.

    Top with your favorite toppings, toss back into the oven, bake until the cheese is melted on top.

    Makes 6 slices.
