Stocks and Chassis things to know

Recently I received an XLR Element chassis as a Christmas present. Man, what an improvement over my B&C Medalist stock. It feels like a totally different rifle.
I'm still in the adjusting the recoil pad height and cant stage and would like some input on adjustment advice and some advice as to plus or minus of going with higher rings (low at present).
Any info is appreciated as well as discussion of does and don'ts or +ez and -ez.
My goal is to have this setup optimally for prone position.
