New Metallic Reloading Press From MEC

  • Interesting new press. I like the design of the open front, 1" shaft, and 1 piece linkage. The floating shell plate is also a great addition. Not sure how well this compares to the Forster Co-ax. Would be interesting to hear from someone who's used both. You can get the press and stand from Midway for $220, so its a pretty good value.

The one downfall is no on press priming option. Obviously if you have a CPS Lite you can prime on press and do it fast. Well that might be the one plus to this press over the Forster, is you can add the CPS or other die style primers to it.

  • Mech just doesn't scream "quality" to me. A big cast body, and non-floating dies/shell holders... it's really just another "C" type press.

    Competition is good though. :)

Yeah I don't know enough about it to say its good or bad. Just thought it was a neat product. I was comparing it to the CO-Ax and I think that my be wrong. This is should be more competition with the RCBS and Hornady Presses really.

  • The floating die system is something the forster has going for it that the others don't. Until someone else comes out with a floating die system I am happy with the coax....and maybe even then.
