This is an interesting read and I'm curious if any other states will try to something similar following the hearings.

Well if this goes to the Supreme Court and they rule in favor of the Kansas people it could effectively change the entire NFA act. If a state has the same law as Kansas does, then all bets are off as long as the firearm, ammo, or accessory is made and kept in the same state.
It could also still have benefits even if they loose the case. The NRA could argue that if a state isn't allowed to undermine the federal law on firearms, then a state should not be able to supersede the federal law either.
